35 years ago, Frank Schumann began collecting old petrol pumps out of sheer enthusiasm. What started out as a spontaneous whim quickly developed into a deep passion.

He has now been active as a collector for 30 years, now also working commercially, and passes on many of his finds – always restored beforehand with great attention to detail. His interest has long since expanded to include a broader spectrum of industrial design.

He attaches particular importance to rescuing historical cultural assets: old petrol pumps, neon signs, headlights and even complete petrol station installations. He has already set up historic petrol stations several times – in close cooperation with open-air museums, equipped with everything that goes with them, apart from the building itself.

For the exhibition in the Northern Lights Concept Store, Schumann selected originals that perfectly match the style and lifestyle of the island. Each exhibit is unique. Some deliberately display patina and lived-in charm, others have been extensively refurbished – repainted, relit, but always with the aim of preserving the original character and getting the best out of the object.
